Marks and Spencer PLC (M&S) is excited to bring forward a new food hall as part of the proposals for Watersmead Retail Park, located at Norway Lane. (Application reference: LU/93/25/PL).

The proposals by Hallway Properties Ltd have been designed to accommodate a new brand-defining M&S Foodhall of c.1,675sqm (sales floor area), which will enable M&S to showcase the full M&S Food range of over 6,600 products and bring a new quality food store to the catchment. M&S are currently targeting for the new Foodhall to open in Autumn 2027 and provide up to 70 new jobs.

Long-term Investment in Littlehampton

If approved, the new M&S Foodhall at Norway Lane would represent a significant “long term investment in Littlehampton will create up to 70 new local jobs. With only one existing store in Arun District (Bognor Regis), this store would provide local customers with access to the full M&S Food range, including fresh produce, bakery goods, ready meals and food to go, within a spacious and welcoming environment designed for today’s shoppers and future generations.

The proposals are part of a wider redevelopment of the site which will see the former Body Shop Headquarter site brought back into active use. The development represents a 20m investment in Littlehampton, creating over 250 new jobs in total.

Site Location

The site is located at Watersmead Retail Park, Norway Lane, Worthing Road, Littlehampton, a well-connected and accessible location with close links to the A259. It offers convenient access for residents of Littlehampton and the surrounding area, with good connections to local bus routes, pedestrian pathways, and cycle routes. The scheme will also improve pedestrian accessibility for residents arriving from the south across the A259.
